The Wearable Tent Shields You From the Elements
I have seen some seriously odd outdoor wear in my time, having spent a good portion of my leisure time out fishing and camping. I have to admit, though, that this wearable tent is something that I haven’t seen before. Essentially, this interesting little piece of clothing serves a multitude of purposes. Not only will it serve as water-tight rain gear, but if you are so inclined you can also convert into a lightweight sleeping bag and shelter within the span of a few short minutes.
If you’re curious. the material is made out of waterproof, breathable 3.1 oz. urethane-coated rip-stop nylon. If you think the gear looks a bit bulky, there is good reason for that, as the jacket stows the three-season sleeping bag and shelter in a variety of zipped pouches. The jacket also sports zippered underarm vents along with a reversible front zipper and an integrated hood and collar. If you want to take a nap, you can cover yourself in the shelter and lay down prone. As you might expect, the shelter is only large enough to cover yourself, so your significant other will need his or her own to stay out of the rain. The gear looks unquestionably unwieldy, and I feel like I’d be afraid I’d tear it on the innumerable number of surfaces you encounter in the wild, but definitely points for innovation here. As tents go, the price isn’t really all that high, clocking in at $249.95.
If you are in the market for other innovative gadgetry for camping, I can suggest a few ideas. You can stave off the heat with this personal air conditioner, for all of you summer campers out there. You can also light up the night with this stylish solar light cap.
